Next month, Dwarka Expressway may open.

The speed has increased due to the completion of load testing and finishing work.

From April, vehicles will be able to ply on the Gurgaon section of the Dwarka Expressway. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) aims to complete construction work by the end of March. About 95% of the construction work has been claimed to be completed in the Gurgaon section, and now load testing will be conducted along with completing finishing work. The start of this expressway will benefit millions of people directly. The full cloverleaf flyover, being built near the Khedki Daula toll plaza, will also be opened to the public next month. This will connect Delhi-Gurgaon highway, Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), and Northern Peripheral Road (NPR), also known as the Dwarka Expressway.

Construction work is being carried out in different packages:

The construction work of this expressway is being carried out in four different packages, two in Gurgaon and two in Delhi. It connects the Khedki Daula toll in Gurgaon and Mahipalpur in Delhi. The foundation stone of this project was laid in March 2019. According to NHAI officials, more than 95% of the work has been completed in the sections that fall within the Gurgaon district border. Now, only a small portion of work remains to be completed, such as installation of signages and finishing touches.

Connectivity will increase between some parts of South Delhi

Every day, more than 3 lakh vehicles pass through the Delhi-Gurgaon section of the Delhi-Jaipur highway, causing heavy traffic on this route. People are forced to get stuck in traffic jams. After the construction of the Dwarka Expressway, traffic congestion on the Delhi-Jaipur highway will be relieved. Connectivity will increase between Dwarka and some parts of South Delhi. People will be able to travel from Delhi in 30 to 40 minutes.
